As you know, Green's low-end power supplies are classified into four groups, ES, EU, SP, and HE, each of the named groups being designed by the most reliable manufacturers of ATX switching power supplies in the world. If you remember, Green's power supply transformation plan started about 9 months ago with the supply of +HP and OCPT power supplies, and now in the third step, it has reached low power, affordable and professional power supplies. At this stage and in the first phase, EU+ and ES series power supplies will be replaced with newer models named EUD and ESD, and in the near future and in the second phase, SPD and HED models will replace the previous generation.

The first series of green products with this new technology are the EUD series power supplies, and below we draw your attention to the most important features and capabilities of the new generation EUD power supplies:

"Green/GREEN" campus company is proud to equip its low-cost and low-power power supplies with DC-DC converters in an unprecedented move. Meanwhile, most power manufacturers in the world implement this type of topology only in their mid-range and high-end models of their professional products. Using the term "low-end power" for this new generation of green power with all these features and capabilities will not be considered a suitable option. Therefore, based on their output power range (330W-580W), it is better to use the term "low power professional power"...

  • Topology of DC-DC converters with synchronous rectification in the secondary section

Unlike the previous generation, which used Group Regulation topology in the design of their secondary section, EUD series power supplies use the latest and most modern design, namely DC-DC converters with Synchronous Rectification. In Synchronous Rectification technology, Schottky diodes are removed from the output section and Power MOSFETs have completely replaced them. In the EUD generation, thanks to the use of ultra-high quality Low RDS(on) MOSFETs, we see a significant increase in efficiency and a decrease in voltage drop and thermal losses, which will significantly increase/stabilize the useful life and tolerate the power supply against high heat.

Also, due to the installation of DC-DC converters in this section, the voltage of each of the main output branches (12V, +5V, +3.3V) is made and treated completely independently. In practice, this causes more stabilization of the voltage level of the mentioned branches in Cross Load (unbalanced load distribution on the output branches), Zero Load (completely unloaded condition), and then, the addition of protection (NLO (No Load Operation) to The capabilities of this series are powered by sources.

The final result of the implementation of this topology will be to reduce the voltage regulation of the main branches to less than 2.5% and also the transient response will be much faster than the previous generation. In addition, unlike most power supplies in this price range, the ability to provide all power output power is provided only on the 12V+ branch. In fact, users who intend to use this series of power supplies on modern systems equipped with high-end processors and graphics cards can benefit from the maximum efficiency of their professional equipment without any restrictions in terms of power distribution on the output branches. become

  • Much faster and more accurate performance of safety protections

The supervisor chip in modern switching power supplies is considered the most important part that oversees all the interactions done in it. In the EUD series power supplies, the Supervisor chip is used more modern and more accurate than the previous generation models, and the customizations made in its biasing, in practice, have provided a much narrower and more accurate range for controlling safety protections.

In fact, the new generation EUD power supplies, like the high-end and expensive power supplies available in the market, support all the current safety protections implemented in modern switching power supplies.

The type and function of OVP/UVP/OCP/OPP/SCP/SIP/NLO/OTP protections in EUD Green Powers are as follows:

Surge & Inrush Protection (SIP)

Thanks to MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) and also NTC Thermistor in the input section, the performance and health of this generation of power supplies is insured against inrush current (Inrush Protection) and even severe voltage spikes at the input.

Over Voltage Protection (OVP)

If the voltage range of any of the output branches exceeds the safe maximum range specified in the standard, this protection will immediately turn off the power supply.

Under Voltage Protection (UVP)

If the voltage range of any of the output branches falls below the minimum safe range specified in the standard, this protection will immediately turn off the power supply.

Over Current Protection (OCP)

If for any reason the passing current of any of the output branches exceeds the safe range specified in the standard, this protection will immediately turn off the power supply.

Short Circuit Protection (SCP)

A short circuit occurs when the output impedance of each branch of the power supply is less than 0.1 Ohm. In fact, if any of the output branches are shorted with each other or with the ground (GND), this protection immediately turns off the power supply.

Over Power Protection (OPP)

If the power consumption of the total output branches of the power supply exceeds the value specified in the standard, this protection immediately turns off the power supply.

Over Temperature Protection (OTP)

If the internal temperature of the power exceeds the value determined in the standard due to various reasons such as device fan failure, blocking of air inlet and outlet openings, or applying a load exceeding the rated power of the power supply for long distances, this protection will immediately protect the power supply. Turns off the power

No-Load Operation (NLO)

This protection allows the power supply to continue working without problems even if its output branches are not connected to the load. (Note: Intel has used the term No-load Situation for this protection in the ATX12V V2.4 standard. But this protection is generally known as NLO

  • Benefiting from high-quality Taiwanese electrolytic capacitors of type 105C in the primary and secondary sections

In both the primary and secondary parts of the EUD series power supplies, high-quality Taiwanese electrolytic capacitors are used with the ability to operate at a temperature of 105C. Compared to similar 85C type capacitors, these capacitors have more than 4 times more life and are noticeably more resistant to current ripple.

  • The voltage ripple and noise of the output branches is up to one third of the global standards

Ripple and output noise is one of the most important factors in reducing the useful life of power and equipment connected to it. The voltage ripple of the 12V+ output branch of the EUD series power supplies is a maximum of 35mV (pp) due to the modern topology implemented in the secondary section and multiple CLC filters, which is equivalent to less than a third of the allowed range in the latest version of the ATX power supply standard.

  • Ultra quiet fan with much smarter performance

Thanks to the ultra-smart fan controller designed for the new generation EUD power supplies, the sound noise of these models is very low, up to 70% to 80% of the rated power, and practically no sound from the power fan will reach the user's ears.

  • High efficiency and 80Plus Bronze certification

Having the most modern topologies of the day in the primary and secondary parts, along with high-quality parts in the manufacture of EUD power supplies, has caused the maximum energy consumption efficiency of the second generation of these power supplies to reach 88%. This level of energy consumption efficiency has made this series of power supplies get the 80 Plus Bronze certificate.

  • Flat and single black output cables

In EUD series power supplies, all black and flat type output cables are used. Flat cables are more flexible than common string cables and make the cabling of parts easier, which will ultimately result in a more beautiful system assembly and better ventilation of the air inside the case.
